Dr. Yagya Prasad Timalsina graduated with a medical degree from Kathmandu Medical College, Kathmandu University. He was engaged in Emergency Department, Dhulikhel Hospital, and Kathmandu Medical College, as PBL Facilitator for MBBS I and MBBS II. He demonstrated his skills in disaster response and crisis management during the 2015 earthquake in Nepal and was actively involved with ReachOut WorldWide(ROWW), a not-for-profit founded by Paul Walker, Red Cross Nepal, Red Cross China, AIESEC Nepal, and local youth clubs. As an ‘International Service Director’ for the Rotaract Club of Kathmandu Medical College, he demonstrated his leadership skills by leading forward with medical camps in flood-affected areas in Rautahat, health camps in rural Mandan Deupur, Patan, etc. His love for rural communities can be noted in his free health services in the rural areas of Dhading, Ramecchap, Panchkhal, Dhungkharka, and Devichaur. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he had been involved voluntarily as a core team member for home isolation monitoring for people in Changunarayan Municipality, Bhaktapur.

He is currently working as a Medical Officer at Ask foundation, Nepal, a not-for-profit where he is regarded as a ‘video doctor’. Ask Foundation Nepal has provided free rural telemedicine to dozens of very remote areas of Nepal for over a decade, benefitting hundreds of thousands of people. Dr. Timalsina is in charge of rural areas of Bajura, Pyuthan, Solukhumbhu, Gorkha, Dolakha, Dailekh, and Niten Memorial School via Ask foundation. He has been awarded the “Best Employee of the year 2078” for his meritorious service and contribution towards Rural Telemedicine. He is primarily involved as a Chief Operating Officer(COO) in Danphe Care Pvt. Ltd., where he has demonstrated his skills in virtual hospital management, case management, protocol development, leadership, business development, training management, research and article writing, public awareness, etc.

As a voracious learner, he has been involved in multiple training including BLS, Ultrasound, Critical Care conferences, Medical Ethics, Medical Research, Psychological First Aid, COVID-19 modules, and Poison Control. With his vision to flourish medical tourism in Nepal, he trained himself in tourism in NATHM and was also awarded a professional ‘Tourist Guide’ certificate under the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Nepal. In leisure, he learns about art, culture, history, and traditions, spends time in nature, writes blogs, and learns the Italian language.
